It’s basically like a show quality bird vs a Hatchery quail bird. Hatcheries don’t care if their birds meet breed standards or not, whereas most breeders for showing do, meaning they breed only the most desirable trait carrying birds.

So hatchery birds dont fall under that? Wouldn't hatcheries strive towards that? I guess I need more of an explanation than that lol

Not really. They are into production rather than type.

Yes I think I understand now. Do people really still show animals?

Name a breed of animal, and there are shows and/or competitions for them.
