I have a questions about the auction section. If I want an item and the current bid is $10.00 and I am willing to pay $50.00 but the next highest bid must be $10.01, if I put in a bid of $50.00 what will happen? Will it go in as $10.01 and increase if another higher bid comes in until the bid goes over my $50.00. Or, will I have suddenly jumped in at $50.00 when I might have gotten the item for $10.01?

I guess I am asking if it works like eBay where I place my highest bid and eBay increases it for me until my limit is reached?

I read the rules but couldn't find anything about this.

Thanks,

Mary

These auctions go to the amount you bid immediately. It's a true auction in that sense, and unattended bidding isn't included.

Good question!

Yikes! Thanks, I might have done something had I not asked. I kind of figured it our by looking at some bid histories and there didn't seem to be a pattern. Good to know. Now I guess I'll have to get up at 4:00 a.m. to see where it is!

Thanks,

Mary

p.s. I can't be the only one wondering about this, can I?

It's a good question. I've added a note to the BSA rules for buyers so people know this is a traditional bidding / auction system (what you bid is what you pay if you win) and not like eBay.

You don't know me........
