Dumb question alert - about pullet eggs

Okay, I have a really dumb question,.... How long must I wait to hatch eggs after the chicken first lays....I have gorgeous black copper maran eggs and I'm itching to put some in the incubator and see these little first borns!

As long as the rooster is doing his job, I would pop some of them in the bator. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try it out!

i grabbed some this time around right from under the biddies and tossed them in the bator. they're veining up and i can see embryos in one.

I have no problems hatching out pullet eggs.

That is great news I was wondering the same thing, going to put eggs in bator this weekend, but have 2 EE's that have just starting laying this week......

might as well give it a go. It could be a good learning experience either way...then you can report back to us...and put us on your waiting list as well.

Some say go for it right away and some say what a month or so. MP just answered a post about this with reasons to wait, Ill see if I can find it !!

yea I think I will wait till next hatch for the EE's

These pullets:

hatched out of these eggs, which were the very first pullet eggs from a marans pullet. Two were pulled back out of the refrigerator after several days too, after I reconsidered having a BCM deluxe egg omelette for breakfast.
