Dumb question - but here I go anyway ....

Algae growing in a day? Do you scrub the sides? I find daily dumping and scrubbing the sides every 3 days to keep growing things at bay. It's the poo I wish fish would eat.

Likely the fish won't last long to put any sort of dent in plant growth, and even then it depends on the type of algae it is. I was at my dad's today eyeballing a ton of tadpoles in his pond... lot's to spare. Too bad he won't let me brings ducks to his house!

(most likely cause his "pond" is the pool cover that's not been cleaned out yet....)

Japanese trapdoor snails are good at cleaning algae but they'd probably get eaten too. You just need a REALLY BIG plecostomus! The ducks can't eat it if it's as big as they are!

You could get some REALLY big fish!

You're welcome to our grass carp... If you can catch him! Last time we caught him was two years ago. Took us an hour to real him in! He was 39" long!

OMGosh - LOL! I am definitely over exaggerating on how fast the algea grows - but between my mastiff who thinks the pools are her personal bathtub to lay in, ducks cleaning themselves, and goats pooping in it periodically - oh and then we are on a well that likes to bring up bits of this and that - Yah, I clean it twice a day - LOL

if you are feeding them for a treat i would go to the nearest live bait shop and get minnows, they are WAAAAAY cheaper, like 1.00 a DOZEN versus walmarts 13 cents each lol
