Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat - Part 2 : Chicken Boogaloo.

This is my dad's buck he shot in December

Just got done yesterday. Big ain't he!

I know this is a thread for dumb things people say about our chickens and believe me, I've had my share. Like the co-worker who threw away a hard boiled egg I gave her because the yolk wasn't dry as dust as a good egg should be. Or the ones who ask how do I get eggs without a rooster.. or the girl who says she gets free range eggs from Costco, for $1.00 a dozen.. (rolls eyes)... But I do want to say that not all vegans are crazy. My son's best friend is a vegan and part of our family for several years now. She loves our chickens and loves to go outside and bring treats for them when we let them out to free range. She even told me she was thinking about trying to have a little something made with one of our eggs ( she's not eaten eggs for many years and wants to be careful) because she loves how well loved and cared for our chickens are and she doesn't think there would be anything wrong with eating our chickens eggs for that reason. And for the most part most of my coworkers are very appreciative when I bring in eggs. I have one Indian friend who always buys my eggs for $4.00 a dozen and she says that she loves my eggs because she loves seeing their pictures and hearing how they love to get treats and she can taste the love in my eggs. I just wanted to share those two good stories.

I keep wondering how my girls are laying eggs with no rooster around.
I thought I just got lucky!

I have a friend, who is also a vegan, but WILL eat my eggs for the same reason, funny huh?

Yeah, I know plenty of great vegans! As is the case for most things, it's the really loud minority that applies some kind of moral judgement to the human/animal partnership that ruin it for everyone else.

As for if PETA is only against factory farms... I found a blog on tumblr not too long ago where the person claimed to be running a "rescue farm" where she would take in animals from other farms. She claimed that no, not even small back yard home operations where they cared for the animals weren't good enough, they were still exploiting and enslaving innocent animals and stealing from them, raping them, etc. I honestly had to wonder if her animals were really "rescues" or if she just stole them.

I'll eat my chicken I butchered and my beef someone else did I'll break my eggs eat my bread and cakes made from eggs from my chickens and my plate always has something dead

on it I'm not a herbivore I'm an omnivore I eat meat and veggies I love deer meat and I'll eat any animal that don't eat me first! My steaks a littl raw where they cry out when I bite down, my sausage and bacon and EGGS fertile or not! And I'll be the first to look at an animal and wonder how would be the best way to cook it. And I'll shoot a squirrel and there I've had my veggies second hand then!

Very true!

Sorry if i wasn't clear in my post, I didn't say or mean that PETA was only against factory farms. I was just saying that that's the one part about their campaign they're right about haha

They definitely don't make the distinction
