I have never been married because when I was "in the mood" either the person I was interested in wasn't wanting to get married or it was the other way around. and there where some I knew if I married there would be a divorce or a murder trail you'd see on dateline or 48 hours sometime in our future, and I prefer alive, with all my stuff and no cops banging on my door wanting to speak to me.

No, but a lot of folks do….when infatuation, looks fade, then that's it. Me, I really like my husband, he's my best friend.
I would say the same of mine! My mother gave me a lot of valuable advice when I was growing up. One of her gems: Never date a guy, unless knowing what you know about him, you'd be willing to marry him, and commit the rest of your life to him. At the time, I thought her words were strange. But looking back, I realize how very wise she was! It just so happens that I heeded her advice, though in a bit of a non-conventional way. I married the very first guy I ever dated. We just celebrated our 40th anniversary last weekend. He's my soul mate, my best friend, he knows my strengths and weaknesses, and loves me in spite of them. We don't always like each other, but we always love each other. Love is a commitment, an action, not an emotion. We've been through a lot of trials. A cord of 3 strings is not easily broken.

I have been married and divorced twice, also. Now i have the best of both worlds...... I have finally found my soul mate. He has his apartment, i have my place. I have my house pets, my horses and chickens. Neither of us is interested in getting married again. He doesn't have children, so he is enjoying sharing my grandchildren. All 12 of them!

I have the best of both worlds (marriage and relationships), too; I'm abstaining from all of them. I've never been happier. I can sleep diagonally across the bed, watch old English murder mysteries on PBS, have the TV off completely to read in total silence, eat out or eat in, cook dinner or eat cereal, no compromising, and I don't have to spend the holidays with his family! Life couldn't be better. Can't tell you how many people envy me. I know, I'm odd. But, I'm finally happy.

And, Old Rooster, I no longer have to contemplate the possibility of spending the rest of my life locked up on death row.

And, the source of this (questionable) *information* is .... what or whom?
God only knows. I honestly do not know where folks come up with half the things they say. I refused to try and convince this person that back yard chickens are much better off than the "sanitary" chickens that produce the pretty white eggs for sale in the stores.

OMG I love PBS! Ah the days when I could curl my manly self on the couch with a tub of ice cream and watch a good old fashioned murder mystery or something about the mysteries of the cosmos on NOVA.

I think I am just going to keep an eye out. Whoever my layer is they laid just yesterday, so I expect I will get one again this weekend sometime, and I will actually be home to tell! I am very excited. It almost has to be her, the only other chickens that arent laying right now are two Welsummers and an EE. I can't think of who else it would be.

Do you have a coop surveillance camera, then you will know for sure.
