Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

We've just started getting eggs. Oh the misinformation! We had 1 bloody egg out of 6. People keep telling me that it's because that egg was fertile and if I don't want bloody eggs I have to kill my rooster.

Why didn't they suggest you just give it away? Wrong, but at least a more reasonable suggestion than killing it.

Probably because they know I'm going to eat him if he tries to attack my son again.

The bad thing is these are our first eggs. I'm pregnant and in the barfing stage. Seeing that bloody egg has put me off eggs all together. So now I've got chickens and eggs and I'm not sure I can eat them.

I haven't checked all the pages so this may be a duplicate....

I posted a pic of our first duck egg on FB (we were very excited) a good friend who buys chicken eggs from us posted..."you don't eat those do you?? eww"...  ummm yeah they are very similar to chicken eggs just bigger....

LOL, that reminds me! When I was little, we went to visit my Uncle and Aunt in rural Germany where he had a backyard flock including geese. He brought out a goose egg to show me, and my eyes went big an I said Zuckerei! It made a huge but delish bowl of the stuff!

Dad taught me to love a few weird German goodies, and zuckerei (sugar-egg) was one of them. But even my Uncle made a face at the thought! Really? You want zuckerei?. YES! So mom made it for my sister and I, LOL

Of course oldrooster, why waste good protien? But you forgot about melting down the teeth for ghe silver and gold? (yuck, I'm grossing myself out! Like, OMG!)

I did not find english versions of this recipe, which is a Dumb thing since we probably do not enjoy this desert because of the Samonella scare. My flock has been tested and there is nothing like that, so I am going to start making this.

Yah, you whip the whites, and I whip the yolk up best I can with sugar, then you fold them together and eat like a fluffy pudding! I've never gotten sick??. Then again, I've only made it a few times since Dad died in '85, so it's not common For me to eat.. I think clean backyard flocks would be extremely safe to eat from, and lots of people eat raw eggs in their protiene shakes. Thing is, I never thought it tasted eggy, but I guess that's because dad made it for us since we were babes. I regret not bringing my children up on this goodie, it must be way better for them than the junk sweets they eat, even with the sugar

Hubby is growing corn in the back yard and said he's gonna make us some sugar, so maybe we'll have all home grown zuckerei soon? LOL

One of my favorite things is tasting the butter sugar egg mixture when I make cookies.

Thanks. I'm having trouble eating anything so I know my desire will come back eventually. It's just SO SAD since we are getting our first eggs and just looking at them makes me want to throw up.
