Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Oh...Oh...I have another. Has nothing to do with poultry but, I asked my mom why she didn't grab some pork chops since they were on sale, she says...."eww...I can't even eat pork now a days all they do is lay in poop all day in those big barns, I used to like it when we had our own pigs though." Now I agree home raised anything is better but as someone who has been in a hog barn can assure you they are not laying in feces in confinement barns, they are however doing jsut that when wallowing in their pens.

Not chickens but I thought it was funny: Today my mom was going on and on about how we need to start eating more vegetables and exercising and being healthy and picking up healthy habbits so we can live longer and what not. So a couple hours later me and the hubby go to run some errands for her and she calls my husband and tells him to pick her up a pack of cigarettes...

My parents had a televising repairman in the late 70's early 80's who was a holdover from the 60's who thought everyone should eat organic and these macrobiotic diets (the stuff he thought of for a healthy diet fell into three basic categories junk science, good ideas and neither here nor there on "healthy" ideas) but as well as he was eating (or thought he was eating) and living a "healthy lifestyle" he chain smoked (literally) cigarettes.

My sister asked me if I was one of those weird people that feed their chickens weird stuff. I told her I feed them the usual stuff: corn, layers feed, some oats, yogurt, sometimes fruit, and organic vinager in the water from time to time. She looked me in the eye and told me....yup....you are one of the weird ones.
I feed mine Pomegranates, they're very middle class lol

Today mine got left over Salad, an old tomato and refried beans.

Mine got leftovers from the mexican restaurant, and baked acorn squash today. They won't venture out of the run, there's snow out there!
