Oh, my....

I suppose you could say it's the same difference as a dog and a b*tch, but she might think you were being pointedly mean for asking the question.

Or just tell her it's the same as the difference between an human and a woman--not everyone knows the technical term for a female dog, but I'd be surprised if someone didn't know the word for an adult female human.

It's because the Nursery Rhyme is:

The chicken goes cluck, cluck, cluck and the rooster goes Cock a doodle doo!

Haha there's some funny posts here!
This girl at work has twice asked me what's the difference between a chicken and a hen! Poor girl, I thought that was quite something...

Ummmm. That's like asking what the difference is between a human and a woman. duh.

Edited to add: After reading the rest of the posts, I realize I'm a day late and a dollar short with my response. Sorry 'bout that, Chief.

Stupidest things I have had said to me : 1. I don't eat "yard " eggs. Because they're unsanitary, gross, etc. 2. Do the blue and green eggs taste the same as white ones? 3. The feed determines the egg color. 4. Ewww! Your chickens eat BUGS? 5. I only eat those eggs that come from vegetarian free range chickens. 6. You mean you kill some of them? (It's a little hard to eat them if they keep jumping off the plate! )

Ask how it is possible to have a vegetarian free range chicken. That is a contradiction in terms. A free range chicken is by definition going to have access to bugs. If they are so concerned about what chickens eat, ask them if the eat shellfish. And if so, tell them to find out what crabs and lobsters eat.
