I may have to remember that for the next big camping field trip our program does. It would have to go better than the paper bag bacon and eggs we made last time.

One of our favorite camping dishes is omelettes in a bag. At the last minute before we leave for the mountains, into one ziploc bag per person we pour some whipped up eggs and push out as much air as possible before sealing. Then the sealed bags get put onto ice in the cooler. The first morning of camping we get a big pot of water simmering, each person gets out an omelette bag and adds whatever they want - cheese, meats, peppers, onions, all pre-chopped, bagged and cooled - you get the idea. Shmush (technical term) the baggies around a little bit to mix everything in, pop them into the simmering water, and let them cook until they are well set. Open the bag and enjoy. We never hold the mixed baggies full of eggs for more than that first day. One overnight in the cooler is okay but once the eggs have been opened and put into the baggie their "shelf life" is limited. I know, we could do the same thing by making up the omelets when we get up in the morning, but it's a family tradition and the first morning of the campout is always pretty hectic the way it is. And oh, oh - I went off topic....
I offered some duck eggs to my sister and she took them - I warned her that it was a "found" nest under the chicken house so she would need to do a float check. All our duck eggs were "found" under the chicken house last year, sometimes 5 minutes after they laid them. At any rate, I was talking to her several months later and several dozen "found" eggs later and mentioned something about my ducks and she said, "Oh! Those were your duck eggs?! I thought you'd just "found" a wild nest!"I have had that conversation too many times. I have also heard from people that politely take the free eggs and throw them out. Grrrr!
This is a trick question? To whom are you speaking?I'm not trying to be fresh, but as a vegan what do you do with the eggs your hens lay? Just curious as I know we do have several Vegans on this forum.....
