Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Ok wow. I am glad I came to the end... i... must...stop...laughing...need air.

Idaho gorillas, chinese ground parrots, full grown adult cloacas, and dumb clucks.

(Tangent: someone in BYC is going by the handle "Dumb Cluck" which I found witty and cute.)

So, now that I can breathe again, I must say I thought my chickens were stupid. And they are, (everyone has had one that flies out but can't figure out to fly back in) and they are gross (I have seen them eat each other's... um nevermind, they're gross ok!) but I love them in spite of that. Adore them, and shake my head and wash my hands. Yes they are stupid, and sadly (though comically) some of the people mentioned in this thread could be outsmarted by my dumbest bird.

I guess I should apologise for my post. I didn't intend to call anyone irresponsible for smoking. I said I was responsible (in this one thing) for not doing it. This was the attitude when I was young and made the choice not to smoke, so I get a little upset. The truth is it's a choice, like any other. My choice not to smoke isn't any more or less responsible than the choice to smoke. I just wish I'd known that when I was still young.

What I do think is that all choices should come with positives and negatives. I'm trying to take you seriously about analysing my perspective and pulling my foot out of my mouth. This is what I see as it. I'm just peeved that I made the choice that didn't come with any benefits, so I guess I'm trying to say there should be negatives to smoking - impose negatives on smoking when they aren't endemically there - because I made a decision that made me unhappy. I'm guilty of the same kind of discrimination as the insurance companies.
I owe you and everyone on this thread an apology as well. I don't usually come uncorked like that. I think I was just overtired and reacted before I thought. That's not an acceptable or good reason - it's just a feeble attempt to explain my rudeness. In a perfect world we'd all be trim, athletic, health conscious people. But our world isn't perfect, and we aren't either. So truce?

Trim, athletic and health conscious people are not immune to serious illnesses like cancer.

Thus why the smokers insurance rate hike is discriminatory.

I am not going to get into this fight but smokers insurance premiums go up because smoking can cause serious illnesses like lung cancer and that is the way insurance works. If you are more likely to get sick you will pay more just like young inexperienced drivers pay more for car insurance.

Nope. I'm rather lucky in that respect. The dumbest thing I get is one kid my homeroom thinks it's absolutely HILARIOUS that I like a site called backyard chickens.

So....anyone say anything dumb about chickens lately, and not about insurance?
Well, not so much that it was a dumb thing, but recently we found out that my 8 year old granddaughter's favorite little chick, Sweet Charlotte, as she named her, is actually a Charlie. When I told her, she looked at Charlotte/Charlie and said, ""Oh, Charlotte. Why'd you have to turn into a boy? Don't you know that's a good way to get a trip to Freezer Camp?" Yeah, Charlie - how dare you switch genders when we weren't looking!
