A friend of mine comes over occasionally and won't get out of her car until I put up the chix. She was traumatized once when she was getting out of her car, they thought she was me and wanted to go for a ride. She got out and ran to my steps, and of course they thought "oooh...She's getting treats!" So they continue to chase after her and she's screaming at my back door while the entire flock of 20 gathers around her begging for something to eat. I couldn't even help her because I was doubled over trying not to pee myself laughing at her.

The matriarch of one of the old families up here sold off 10 acres of land, which was made into a street with 5, soon to be 6 (and the last) house on it. It's my street, straight as an arrow, 4 houses long, and it dead ends at the creek. The locals up here refer to this as a "subdivision".

Bless their hearts.

it's scary when you're being chased by hungry dinosaurs. She must have felt like she was trapped surrounded by tiny raptors lol

are eggs a good source of iron?
Oh, this isn't an egg or chicken one, but as soon as I read your comment about iron I thought of my mom. Ma was fantastic person - lots of fun and so gentle and loving. But Ma wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. I came home from school one day all excited because in Home Ec we'd learned that many vegetables have trace elements in them besides the obvious vitamins we associate with them. "Ma," I told her with my I'm-14-and-I-know-everything attitude, "Even lettuce can have tiny amounts of iron in it."

Ma stopped pressing Dad's shirt and looked thoughtful for a minute. Then she said, "Hmm, no wonder it rusts so easily in the refrigerator."

well, it is oxidizing that causes the lettuce thing? Lol

I was thinking of naming mine Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. for the day they will be sacrificed for the dinner table. Laughs. I know, I'm bad.
