Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

I put some 5 week old chicks in a run with my rabbits last week. An elderly woman came by and said to me " god take them out quick before the rabbits eat them"

A neighbor complained (after 2 years of "oh I love your chickens, they don't bother me at all, let them come over I feed them scraps, thank you for free eggs every week" mind you) that my chickens "cleaned out the leaves around her house and property" and dug a hole that she could have fell up to her knee in. I immediately made a run and keep them off of her property, and then went to see if I could fix the damage. The hole wasn't from my chickens. It was in a spot by her ditch where moles had burrowed and rain had eroded it bigger, washing it into the ditch. You could see the tunnels to and from it. And I have dusting holes all over the place...it was not the same thing. Regardless, I fix as best I can and keep the chickens from her yard. I chalk it up to her being old and senile. Still want to bang my head against the wall.

Everybody take a minute to think about the scene in Monty Python Holy Grail where the viscous, blood thirsty rabbit takes down an army. You've really got to keep on eye out for those rabbits!

There is a guy at work that has been talking to me about getting chickens for his backyard.

Him: So I have a question, what do your chickens lay?

Me: Well mine lay bologna.

Him: Really? I didn't know that's where bologna came from. I was always told that it was a bunch of meats processed together.

Me:

I'm about to pass out from holding in my laughter!

Him: Giving me a puzzled look said "are you alright?"

Me: Well I was just kidding about the bologna, chickens only lay eggs and nothing else.

Him: ............Oh

He walked away and hasn't talked to me since! I was only joking with him didn't know he would take it seriously! I guess next time I wont joke with anyone for them to take me serious! LOL
A chicken that lays meat......hmmm maybe we could come up with something?

While rabbits don't normally eat any meat, ever, they have been known to attack and bite chickens when housed together. Works out just fine for lots of people, but it does happen.
