This site is the only place that I've seen that abbreviation. For me, ETA means the same as it does for you. For editing, I've always just put and (Add) out in front of what I have to add to the post. Every site, region, and clique has its own lingo.
I never know if it's regional (there are some real doozies up here in the Blue Ridge mountains, which took me quite a while to learn/figure out) or generational, so I'll keep asking if everyone doesn't mind. Thanks, 7
To avoid any hurt feelings, I happen to like the variations in dialect. It's very interesting, and some of these expressions go waaaaay back, to the time when the settlers first came here. For example, "Backanow" (Back of now, meaning in the past, at some time in the past, when I was a kid, etc.). Said as one long word, you should've seen me try to figure that one out. huh? (I thought they were saying "bacchanal") I felt like an idiot for several years, but I've got the hang of it, now. In fact, earlier today, I wuz loafering on the porch when it came a big flood. It wuz so bad, I had to go inside.
