Story about stupid people getting in animal's personal spaces.......

A friend had two dogs that were extremely dog aggressive so taking them to the vet was really an adventure. When a new "mobile" vet became available in our county, he set up an appointment. She arrived, got out of the vehicle......We warned her they didn't like vets....... Neither of the dogs barked or growled at her. She worked on Ernie first, wormer, clip nails, express glands, body check for any abnormalities, then his shots. Everything going smoothly so far.......

I have been holding Bert by the collar......She walks up to Bert and before I realize what she is doing, bends over him to give him a hug.......... and he bites her right in the face!

I could not believe a vet would do something so STUPID!

She probably thought since Ernie was so good then Bert would be the same.
I'm not defending her, it's still a dumb thing to do. Especially if she was told that they weren't exactly the friendliest dogs in the world.

I am sooo sorry. Even though she was warned and acted extremely irresponsibly, it still must have been horrible for you and your friend's family. Hopefully no repercussions to Bert. Have your friend give him a hug for me :D LOL.

I've never contributed to this thread but it's so much fun and interesting to read, I'm tossing this post out just to subscribe!

Carry on please, I never know from day to day what I'm going to read here.

Wow. All I can say. Wow. Right up there with the guy who jumped into the holding pen with Mother Beeve and her calf because he wanted to take a picture of that cute little calf.

Anyway, here in the SF Bay Area, we are about to have a mass case of stupid. Some company has found a market niche - they run bulls and steers down horse racing tracks and have people "run with the bulls." This is right up there with swimming with sharks in the "are you sure this is a good idea?" category. So they are holding several of these at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, and they have set up the rails with "escapes" for runners.

I have a business idea - running with elephants - or maybe with jackasses or lions or feral hogs.
Get a lawyer to write up a good waiver for them to sign, and some PR guys to sell the event and you'll get people to sign up for it. Seems like every other day I hear people signing up to do some new mud run or obstacle course run.

I would highly suggest to you and any other newbie just joining up here to go back and read the whole thread. It really is an education.

I've already read about 1/2...wow, an "education" is right!

Why...have I never thought of this?
Two a/c's, two water heaters...but only one dish washer!
I'm just kidding..I don't do dishes lol.
I should have known you'd be soooo educated! Lol.

Just a bored woman in a town with not very many jobs. Nothing to do but accumulate college degrees or work at the Stop and Rob.

I got to thinking about it, and with all of the banks and the SF stock exchange around here, maybe I should have a business where they run with both the bulls and the bears? I suspect that the stock for running with the elephants might be too expensive for a startup. B^)
