Ok, That one wins a stupid award. Even my DH was all "DANG, how stupid can you be!" when I read it to him.

Has she never seen a YARD stick?! Omg can you imagine if there really was 12 feet (and 16 inches in a foot?!) in a yard? I don't think teachers would be using yard sticks as pointers in class anymore

and of course as soon as I say that I imagine a teacher with a giant stick trying to teach students, oh my lol!

Just think, the nuns wouldn't have even had to leave their desk to smack a kid on the hands!

Imagine how those football players would feel after a long punt return for a touchdown! They would definitely be wiped out!!!

Just like the poor organic milk cows, when they become so sick that antibiotics are needed, its off to the auction house.
What? Cows are vegetarian. In many feed lots they are fed things they would NOT eat anywhere else including meat. Cows do not have the teeth for meat. They are ruminants. Feed them meat THEN you get trouble not the other way around.

Since the mad cow scare, I don't think cattle are fed any animal products at all now. And hog feed has a warning label on the bag stating that it is not to be fed to ruminents.

I think they meant that since the cattle are organic only when they get sick they can't be treated for the symptoms due to them being strictly organic. Organic doesn't mean just vegetables it means just vegetables that haven't been changed in any way no inorganic pesticides and none of the regular seeds you buy. Everything has been improved withstand less water and harsher winters.

Okay, so I asked my parents for chickens, (I did ALL my research for days etc) I told them about chickens all that stuff and they said "NO, we are NOT getting chickens, they smell, there loud, they are hard work, blah blah blah, etc, and I was so angry, but said nothing. And we love in Washougal so...

Chickens are completely dependent on humans for their survival every minute of every day for years, no exceptions. It is a real responsibility. I know some kids who are up to this responsibility, and I know some adults who are not.

Maybe you can find a local chicken keeper who would enjoy your help.

Completely dependent every minute? I assume you keep watch your chickens every minute they out free-ranging? And what of those that actually make their chickens free-range during the summer for 80-100% of their food, not paying attention to them except to close the coop at night? Chickens were meant to be low-maintenance. People really over-complicate chicken-raising. As long as you live in a relatively predator-free area with access to water, chickens easily can take care of themselves.

Chickens are meant to be VERY low maitence animal. As chicks? Food, water, bedding, warmth. Like having a rat, but less bitey. As adult? Food, water, fencing, insulated coop (depending how cold, if it doesn't get lower then 0 then even a good insulated coop doesn't need a heat lamp). Really, what is the high maintence or 'dependent' thing you have to do? Change out bedding daily as chicks? Weekly / monthly bedding changes as adults? Daily water and feed changes? I don't see how that is very dependent. They forage for a lot of feed given they're free ranged, or then you just need to clean out the bedding often to reduce smell (hey, sand, change it out every few months) and feed more often. Not a 'real responsibility' unless they're close to the house and need often bedding changes.... Unless you consider feeding and watering daily a real responsibility ??

I have had the same conversation with people at work. Some said they would never eat them. So I made a quiche, brought it to work, and placed it in the breakroom. That quiche was gone in an hour. Everyone raved at how good it was. All I could say was, "really? I thought you would never eat my eggs". Another girl asked me if chickens could lay eggs without a rooster. I asked her if she could ovulate without a man. She doesnt really ask me questions anymore.
ROFL you just made me and my BF's day lol had us both laughing hard enough to hurt. I want to steal this if someone asks me.
