i have thought about this, and its probably what i will do when i get some weight back on her. she was so big from the puppies, she couldnt fit in her dog house. i didnt realize she was so thin until this morning. my wife is headed to the store right now, she was going to try to find some discounted hamburger to mix in her feed.
Have her check for discounted ground turkey as well. My pup wouldn't touch hamburger but she devoured the turkey. She got a stomach bug of some kind and we had to give her a special diet for a week. Lots of mostly cooked ground turkey, boiled chicken and cooked white rice. She loved it. Helped put weight back on her too but that was probably because she ate so much of it.

Also I cooked the rice in the water left from the chicken.

Gracie (mother) is really thin. i guess its because of the size of the litter. i'm thinking of getting some biljack (spelling) to feed her unless someone tells me different. any suggestions?

some will be red and some will be blue like her. they get their colors later on - like dalmations.

What are you gonna do with all these puppies?

When my dog was sick and not eating I encouraged her to eat using canned tuna. I also gave her unflavored pedialyte in chicken broth because she was throwing up. Obviously you have a different situation here but tuna works well if you have any on hand, my dog bounced back to health in no time.

Congrats on the babies.

Quote: they aren't full blood, just 3/4 i haven't even made up my mind if im going to doc their tails. i guess our plans are to keep probably a pair to train for around here. the rest will be free to people who are actually willing to work with them. blue heelers are known biters, but very protective over their territory and owners; makes them kind of hard to get rid of unless someone wants them for the purpose of herding or keeping unwanted people away.
