Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

We have a few named eggs in our fridge. Luckily we have enough of a variety in breeds we can now tell who laid what from size, shape and colour.

A few have 'Rosie' on it from our flock too!

Most of my girls are a mix, I think a few are true breeds but I don't know enough about then to tell. I love them all the same. My chcocolate and cream hen lays a lavender coloured egg, the others are buff , brown, white, mottled cream and so on. I know the eggs from my older girls but the year old ones I'm still trying to recognise

what? your house burned down and you still have your chickens and dogs? that is just stupid. you should just have them put down because you have bigger problems to worry about.

this was told to me by many people after our home burned down this year. we still have our dogs and chickens and added a lot more chickens, guineas,goats, cats, bunnies, and even a duck to our family since we lost our home in january. i felt loosing our home was enough stress on my son 3 days before his birthday. i never once even brought into consideration to kill all his animals too. wth is wrong with some people. smh

my neighbor checked on my chickens when I was out of town in August. When I got back, he told me that one of them looked funny and he thought it might be a rooster (she's an easter egger. def not a roo!).

We live in Los Angeles so when we got or chickens there were a lot of skeptics and people with weird questions and comments.
When we got our first egg we posted a picture of it on facebook and got this comment:

Friend: Wow! Do you have a rooster?!
Me: Nope, you don't need a rooster for the hens to lay eggs.
Friend: hmmmmmm I don't know about that.

umm, we're the ones with the chickens!! Definitely no rooster, and this egg definitely came from one of our hens! What more proof do you need than that?!

Hey, it is usually the current generation that rebuffs our wonderful eggs, not the previous one! They usually had a grandparent, aunt or uncle who had a farm and knew about eggs.
