you can buy them at the store and give them to them!!!!

of course, the ones at the store have been washed. not fresh and the chickens that lay the eggs don't free range and probably are treated with all sorts of chemicals etc etc etc. chickens in production don't have it nearly as good as we all treat our chickens. the eggs also taste different from the store--a very milder flavor and the yolk is not a vibrant color either. we could go on and on--but people will argue with you all day long. you know what is right.!!! always remember something about people---perception is reality. and you can't change realtiy unless you change their perception and good luck with that. in our stores around here there is the choice of regular eggs, brown eggs and organic eggs. prices fall right around 1.50 to 1.99 for regular eggs, brown eggs 2.99 to 3. 49 and local organic eggs 4.99 to 6.99 a dozen. there is your apples to apples comparison

me too, fair scottish skin under an Aussie sun doesn't fare well though. I use sandpaper on my eggs if really fouled up with dirt but thankfully that is once in a blue moon as it is fairly dry here. I only have one hen that has constant runny poo and has had since I got her. Nothing has worked, she drinks too much water though. Apart for runny poo on the eggs occasionally she is very healthy

lots of sun here too, is hard to keep the chooks cool in summer. Hubby has wired in a small fan to the hen house for night times. It's often so hot they pant even at night. My Neighbour lost lots of hens as she completely closed them up at night with no ventilation :( so sad, she still hasn't learned and wants to blame fleas or something but most definitely not herself.

i have a cousin who has chickens he has over 30 hens that stay in a building all the time. he doesn't buy feed but goes to the bread store and buys their discarded bread. all the eat is bread and has never dewormed the birds, has lost so many. they are sickly he has offered them to me and as much as i want to help the hens i can't risk them infecting my current flock of healthy birds. i have tried to educate him to no avail. animal control states as long as he gives them food water and shelter nothing they can do. no i didn't call them someone else did. it is very sad.
