If you like Pickled Polish Sausage then the one gallon containers when emptied from deer camp or what have you are an excellent sources for making two large batches of spicy pickled eggs. The eggs turn a deep pink first batch and much lighter second, dye fading but good indicator the cayenne pepper flavor is fading too.

These are smaller 32 oz jars but you get the idea. Around here they come in 16 oz or the one gallon which are usually only found on deli counters that sell sausage individually.
hahaha! I do the same. Little tip: if you do your own, use pickling cucumbers or others that are still small n bumpy, otherwise they're a soggy mess.
Okay! I love pickled beets! Yum! My fingers are stained red for weeks when we pic our garden beets every year. lol!
