Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Most of my ignorant comments mostly revolve around how I must be a cold-hearted psychopath for butchering for meat, but I had one person actually just last week accuse me of "stealing the babies" (eggs) from chickens. She tried to guilt me in how I'd feel if someone stole my children from me.

I messed with her after that telling her that my chickens are happy little cannibals that go BONKERS for the cooked chicken meat and scrambled eggs I give them, just to make her apoplectic. XD

It never ceases to boggle me how so many people who profess to claim to love and care for animals take NO time to learn anything about them. They really just care about some fantasy they made up about them, not about them personally. Which is sad, as I think it's really a further detriment and setback to making changes in providing better conditions for our commercial livestock.

Oh well, at least my chickens wholeheartedly agree with me that they are indeed finger lickin' good, and I know that they are happy and healthy.

Well, most of the "fiends of animals" I have met assume animals behave and think like white people in one of the more affluent suburbs. B^) If you really want to freak them up, invite them over to watch a flock of Muscovy Ducks and see the reaction when the male decides it is breeding time. Ever had an animal lover demand you stop that drake from raping those ducks?

Ok, I HAVE to share this one that I just got just now on another forum I frequent discussing how I raise chickens for meat and eggs:

"whats wrong with you why can't you just buy them fresh or frozen you sound like a heartless killer beatiful chicks u want eggs from and at some pt kill em to eat..go to kentucky popeyes mary browns swiss chalet..I think your a sicko."

And, I think that person is a delusional moron who's going to be the "sicko" if he/she keeps eating at those ptomaine palaces. Jeez.

They really just care about some fantasy they made up about them, not about them personally.

More people who are led by their *emotions* and substitute feelings for thought, That's why this country is in a hand basket and headed for a very warm place across the river Styx

It really isn't cost effective.  It takes too many chickens to produce a quart of milk. Chicken milk would be soooooo expensive. :D

And they DO produce milk because they have breasts. However, my chickens HATE me when I try to find their nipples so I can milk them. (Had someone buying chicks ask if they were still nursing)

You have just described a whole lot of the more extreme animal rights organizations. One animals rights organization in California "rescued" a herd of dairy goats. They didn't know anything whatever about dairy goats and wouldn't listen to anyone who did. They used general anesthisia to milk the lactating animals, and for some reason thought the goats needed daily baths. Within a year they managed to kill off the herd. Some died of pneumonia from baths, some died of complications from the anesthesia, and the rest starved to death because these idiots didn't know what and how much to feed the goats and refused to learn.

Good grief!

That's so...something. Sad, disgusting, ridiculous, stupid, horrifying...
Wow.

where in the blue blazes did they even come up with the manpower to daily bathe a herd of goats?? That's a couple of man hours a day to do that, even if all you're doing is just giving it a quick hosing down and not breaking out shampoo for it.
