I cook 'em and eat 'em that way...you wouldn't remove blood from a good steak, why remove a tiny dot from a good egg? Blood's good eatin'.

Lol!

I suppose it's the aesthetics, if all eggs had them then I would be fine with it. If I'm scrambling eggs, I don't bother to remove it, but if it's something I have to look at, I usually do. :)

"1 Life partner, 2 sons,9 Silver Spangled Hamburgs, 1 Cuckoo Marans rooster, 13 Dark Cornish, 4 Delawares, 3 Black Australorps, 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 2 Blue Andalusians, 2 Brown Leghorns, 1 Blue Heeler, 1 Pit Bull mix, 1 black cat and all the wildlife we can handle! More to come!!!"
chicksurreal, it took me a minute to figure out where you transitioned from chickens to dogs in your signature - Brown Leghorns right into Blue Heeler.

Lol!

They're all family to me!

I've actually seen more blood spots in store bought eggs than the ones from our own chickens. Out of hundreds of eggs this last year I saw maybe two with blood spots and I know I've seen more "weirdness" (if you want to call it that) from store bought eggs.

If you watch Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa, she cracks her store bought eggs into a separate bowl "just in case one is bad". When's the last time you got a freshly laid egg out of the nest box that was rotten?

Where's the Partridge in a Pear Tree?

I do watch her, love most of her recipes!

And, yeah, I'm going to say NEVER to that last question. Lol!

I used to have a gal that worked for me that was either very late or absent at least 2-3 each month. Every time she claimed it was because she hit a deer and couldn't drive. If she had truly killed every deer she claimed, in a 12 month time period, NE KS would have had a zero deer population. She had been with the company several years and all previous supervision knew she was a loafer but instead of showing her the door, they would just pass her on to someone else's department. I finally showed her the door and she was shocked.

Glad she finally got the boot. I once hit a deer on the hi way on my way to work. I seen it fly through the air over my car & hit the ground. I was running about 15 minutes early, so I called the state trooper, got a claim tag, called DH & told him to come pick it up. Went on to work with antifreeze & smoke poring out the engine. I made it on time too

. Some people do not have good values when it comes to work.

Oh. Do you go to the dump on Saturday mornings, too? It's the event of the week, here, where everyone meets to socialize.
Why, where I come from, if Hubby and I get to go to the dump without kids, I call that a hot date! (I have very low standards!) I do some of my best shopping at the dump. I picked up 3 name brand thermopane windows and a steel door with full thermopane glass for my coop. A dorm refrigerator to turn into a incubator, many truck loads of compost, sheets of plywood, and various useful pieces of lumber.
