I have 3 request for eggs already and my chickens are not laying yet. They are too good and in high demand to share with the dumb.![]()
I am not offering, they just know I have chickens and they are asking.![]()
Who started the thought process that brown eggs were "better" than white? I've always wondered why so many people think that. I know I get brown egg layers just b/c it's fun to see the different shades (getting a couple EEs this year for the kids), but not b/c I think they are "better" than white. One time last year the 6 eggs I collected for the day were a lovely color graduation from light to dark. It was pretty neat!

I'm one of those former stupid-heads...
I *think* it is because (because I used to think this) that white eggs were heavily processed ...like white bread is. The less white the better. So I preferred brown eggs.
My wife on the other hand believed the same thing ...but with the same logic she would never eat the brown eggs.
I didn't learn until a few years ago that the color of the egg was solely dependent on the chicken.
Now that we're edumacated..we eat any fresh eggs.

I think it is related to brown rice and wheat being brown, marketing people just take anything brown and tell you that it is better for you hoping you will buy it. Many do because we have it in our heads that the closer it looks to dirt the better it is for us.
