Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

I was amazed how many people thought that, even my own parents think something like it. I think they think a hen lays an egg with out a yoke or something, from the conversation I had tonight with them. What is funnier still is that I knew better without anyone telling me so.
If that where true just think how much of a killing you'd make on selling eggs to people who make egg beaters (if you look on the labels it's 99% egg whites a little flavoring and the rest is chemicals to color it yellow and preserve it) people who want to make Angel food cakes or egg white omelets would wear out a path to your door!

Okay, so I sent the picture (below) to a few friends and relatives because I was all excited that I was able to process my own chickens all by myself (me and hubby).

My sister-in-law told my mom-in-law that she was HIGHLY offended by this picture.
She said it disturbed her a great deal to see such horror.

The only reason I sent out that particular photo was because it was NOT gruesome.

Well, mom-in-law had to finally explain to me that the chicken is "outside" - "raw and exposed" -
and "not wrapped in cellophane the way chicken should be."

Ask Mom in law how she had hubby, tell her it sounded disgusting, and unsanitary unnatural the babies you get from the hatchery come in a nice clean neat little box and are in a sterile environment, unlike an unsanitary hospital! I mean people die there! and Sepsis and Staph infection, my Lord what was she thinking, she should have ordered her children and had them mailed to her in a sanitary box!!!! lol
fight stupid with stupid, because you can't fix stupid...

My wife and I have had chickens for several years now. We have a very nice little setup. I installed automatic waterers and have a 5 pound feeder.
We went on vacation for a couple of days and asked our neighbor (city boy) to collect the eggs each day and he could keep all of the eggs. With the automatic waterers and a full feeder all he would need to do is get the eggs. He actually had his wife buy him surgical gloves, face masks and a pair of goggles to be able to "safely" collect the eggs!!!!!

That sounds like my BF when I met him! LOL!!!!

He also said you have to "trim the hair back on its arse, so that they can deposit without getting it all through her arse hair."

He didn't sound so bogan when I was listening to him though, just really stupid. But after reading what I just wrote... I think he's both... :p

Uh, chickens with hair???

Ohhhhh. So, chicken is supposed to be cooked while still in the cellophane?? And, to think I've been doing it wrong all these years.

Listening to some of these people is like being at the Mad Hatter's tea party. <sigh>

When I informed them that the hens lay eggs without the rooster making them do it!! ""So if the hen lays the egg anyway what do you need a rooster for??""

That is a question I suggest they go back to grade school to have answered!!

My grandma always have hens. So when my uncle told me only could eat fried eggs I was speachless. He told me that he boils them they make him sick. He gets a cold. How you relate a boiled egg with getting a cold? got no idea.
