Dumor Feed

I have not used Dumor chicken feed, but I do know their horse feed is not worth it. It is EXPENSIVE, and isn't nearly as good as Nutrena or Blue Seal. I had to pick up a bag of 12% sweet feed for my in-laws, who were buying Dumor at TSC. Almost $14!!!!!!! I told them to go to the feed mill that's literally 5 minutes up the road - Their 12% sweet is $8.

So, loss of Dumor feed at TSC - NOT a big deal... It will be interesting to see if they sell Layena (Purina), how much it is. Local mill sells it for $11.50...

I was told today come October 5th a local TSC here will be carrying Purina products...Start and Grow $12.99, Layena (Crumble & Pellet) $11.99 and Flock Raiser $11.99.

All feed stores around my area sell Purina feed. Starter, layer, flock, broiler etc. And they all come in different sizes, pellet or crumbled. My birds are very healthy and my run and coop doesn't smell. I buy them the crumbled. They prefer it over the pellet. I also use the "Little Giant" feeder and never have waste. I mean never. It's the best feeder I've ever owned.

since March i have been looking for Purina Feed, i didn't know i was buying it under another name. I trusted Purina products for years, especially since the dog food recall a year ago. I feed all my dogs a RX diet called EN, I have one with stomach issues, but they all do very well on it.

Those sound like good prices. Hopefully it will be the same everywhere. I just paid 14.95 for Flock Raiser at our local feed store.

I had fed Dumor prior to this and had no problems. Since I just bought the Flock Raiser and started mixing it with the Dumor, it'll probably be awhile before I will see a difference (if any). I had been feeding the crumbles and they wasted a lot. The Flock Raiser is pellets. . . . .we'll see.

Don't be bummed. TSC will start in Jan to sell Nutrena, a better food from what I'm told and it will keep the smell down in the coop. This is a good thing. My TSC also told me that in Jan they will start to special order feed, like organic chicken feed. Yippy!!!
