ohhh, now let us all be nice.
Every time I get a stray, I isolate it to keep my healthy dogs from picking up anything the stray may have.
I have had giardia. It lead to life long food allergies. It is a serious concern.

Writer of words is right on how she is doing it. A safe kennel, food, and attention is what he needs- and is what he is getting. She loves animals. She loves people. She has every right to fall in love with this boy and keep him. And I will be delighted out of my socks if that is what happens.

I am just squirmy (Like a three year old. they just do not have a 'jumping up and down 3 year old ' emoticon) but we are all going to have to cool our heals and let him settle out a bit. We will see what happens as it happens. What will be will be. And I am good with that.

We want the best for the dog. Period.
There are dogs here where I live that need homes. Truth is, I feel guilty having everyone get upset about this. I feel awful getting everyone riled up.
Everyone here loves animals and wants the best. We are all good.

I have a GSD dog now that bounces the ball in front of you so you will play with her. My husband will be working under the car and she'll roll it to him with her nose. He says it takes much longer to fix the car that way. (ball/wrench/ball/wrench...)

LOL!! My husband and Herc do the SAME THING!!! How he manages to throw the ball farther than I can from underneath the truck, I'll never know!!! So, you know what I mean!!!! And it sounds like you know all about the fact that a dog is plenty capable of bonding with you long after puppyhood, and really that is the most important issue, every thing else will fall into place. I hope he finds his way to you!

I think it is fair to want him NOW, so would I.......BUT
(and this is not directed at 3 good eggs)
Writer of words is doing right by him 100%, providing him with a safe place, with good food, medical care, and interaction with at least three responsible, dog loving humans, and other dogs. All for the sake of giving him the best chance possible. I daresay he has a better deal hanging out there for a while than many dogs do at their own homes! And these things take time.

Geez, give it a rest with the criticism already!

If only there were more people like WOW out there!!!!!!!!

Most people would not have allowed a stray on their property, think of the inherent risks involved! Most would just run him off, a few would probably just as soon shoot him, a few might bother to call animal control, I cant imagine coming down on WOW like that considering.....
Just my opinion I guess.

The kennel is 12 x 12 FEET,,,, I don't think that qualifies as a cage. The puppy's best interest is the most important thing and since he is terrified of other dogs tossing him in with them would not be in his best interest now would it? I'm going to request this be closed and I will update everyone later. I am not going to be subjected to accusations of abuse such as this for trying to help a puppy.
