Dumpster Diving-Garage Sale-Goodwill-Thrift Store & Craigslist Finds

just bought an older HUGE chest freezer for $50 - good thing because I'm going to be raw-feeding my dogs starting in 2 weeks, and I needed someplace to put the 100 lbs of raccoon and beaver meat I got for $0.40 / lb...

and I'm picking up a free working washing machine tomorrow...

Just wanted to let you all know that now is a great time to buy big baby items, drapery, sheets, and even toys at Target. They clearance alot of these types of items out right now. I bought nice drapes last year for cheap. I spent $10.00 on two panels that normally retailed for $35.00 per panel! I was in there on Wednesday and they had a ton of toys and big baby items (stroller combos, bouncy seats, etc) on clearance.

Also, if you have a Meijer around you, keep an eye out on jeans if you need them. I've picked up brand new jeans for $5.00 a pair.

Happy bargain hunting!

We got a fully-functional Craftmatic adjustable bed with built-in massage and memory foam mattress, and the head/legs lift with the touch of a button (came in very handy when I was recovering from an accident in 2009 and had to sleep upright for the first few nights I was out of the hospital). Got it on Craigslist for $100, and the people even brought it to the house for us at no charge. It was taking up space in their garage & they hadn't slept on it in 2 years and just wanted it out of the way. We turned around 2 years later and sold it for that same $100 to someone else. It was worth more. We totally miss that bed... the bed we have now is really uncomfortable for both of us and WAY too big for us.

My best find ever was a double door wardrobe, with mirrors on both doors for twenty dollars. The best part is, it is one my grandmother had sold at auction when she moved back in 1978. At the same yard sale I bought a Jadeite swirl mixing bowl for .25 cents, and 5 star of David cups for .10 cents apiece.
