Dun/Chocolate Orpington Babies????? Post your pics here!!!!

Thanks :) .. Maybe one of these days, he will find the Orpington Hen I have attractive enough to fertilize their eggs and I can test to see his offsprings are like him. But he is interested in my Barred Rock, French Black Maran and couple of Red Comet (Two Orpington Hen he has no attraction to )

His Dad looked identical to him but his mom was a Chocolate Orpington bantam. I do not have any Chocolate Orpington Hen, so not sure what will be my combo :( ... I have a Lavender and a Blue Hen.

If you cross him with either the Lav or the Blue you will get pullets that are barred, though not all of them will be, and all of the pullets will either be Chocolate or Mauve. Do you live in the states or in the UK?

Oh that is great news. I have to try with the blue one. But for some odd reason, he shows no interest on two if the orp female.

He is too much into Red Comet, then Black Maran and Barred Rock. I think before next Spring when I want to try incubating his babies, I might lock him down with those Orpington. But part of me curious what his and barred rock combo can produce :p

By the way, I'm in Georgia

I have some dun chocolate split seperated out for crossing and will set some eggs in a few weeks. I am told that these birds will produce chocolate and possible dun or possible khaki. Is this correct?

Here's Nigel ...Very nice guy, protect his flocks from all sorts of threats, finds goodies for the girls, and no matter what tasty treat you give him, he would make a sound which will bring all the Hen to him and they will take the food right out of his beak ... now that's a nice guy alright :)
