I got DuraPen at TSC for my chickens injuries after Sunday's dog/coyote attack. Bottle says SubQ administration for beef cattle. Anyone have experience with that rather than IM?
I gave 1/4 cc subQ under a wing flap to a young black orp pullet, not yet laying, before dark here. She had puncture wounds.
The young white orp pullet seems to be recovering fairly well so I didn't give her a shot.
A beautiful Blue copper maran young roo that we were going to keep just died. I didn't think he was hurt that badly , but I was obviously wrong. Our other marans are in various stages of limps and ruffled feathers including another Blue copper roo that we were going to keep.
Do you think I should inject anything with a puncture wound to be on the safe side?
