Dust Bath Question?

but the current one seems to be very popular (they run for it when it's open).
So what's the secret?
I am so glad to have one area of run that stays dry, and thus thawed, that they can use year round. They never much cared for the one I put in the coop in winter(filled with same dirt in run bath)I didn't even bother with it this year.

So what's the secret?

No real secret. My current dust bath is:

I've always just used peat moss but it's hard to keep it dry in a rainy climate. Since this completely enclosed top and bottom it stays dry regardless of ground water seepage, rain, etc. Low profile so it's easy to get in and out of, and large enough for 3-4 birds. They'll stand around it in the morning and peck at it, hoping it'll open up.

Haha! That's great! Maybe it's so popular because they don't have free access to it?
Grass(turtle) is greener and all.

I'm looking for a plastic tub to use, I tried a washing up bowl but I think it is too small.
I put peat and sand mix in it plus some anti-lice powder.
