Dust Bath Recipes

I am building a coop and want to include a built in dust bath into the design.
I was wondering what people put into thier Dust Baths to keep the ladies happy and clean.
I did read something about fire ash somewher I think.
Any info would help.

Someone on here suggested to use the wood ashes from my woodstove, DE (food grade) and some soil. My girls absolutely love it!

I went to the source and asked my girls. They like to dust along the side of the house where rain doesn't reach. I dug up a goodly amount of their dust and added some DE to a very large kitty litter pan.

Later, some of the girls found a flower pot filled with soil and other additives. I swept up the mess on my deck around the pot and emptied the pot into their pan with the original dirt/dust along with more DE.

From their beaky smiles, I'm guessing they like it.
