I have used play sand .Its just too high. I can get beach sand free.Sand blast sand at less than 1/2 price of play sand. River bank sand free I think. What you guys use???...thx...cva34

I've used dirt from the yard, play sand, broken-down pelleted bedding (sawdust), ashes from the wood stove, and pretty much anything else I can get hold of that is 'dusty'. They really don't care as long as they can fluff in it. You could always use cornmeal or flour, I'm sure they wouldn't mind being 'breaded'

Did you see my post? You can use anything. They will even dust in their feed if they have an open pan.

As Shelly says ...they will dust in anything!
Of the 3 choices you listed. I would say 1. beach sand, 2.Sand blast sand, 3. play sand.
The fact that my first choice was free, and they went up in price, is no coincidence

give them the full course bath experience

try salt, five star spice powder, white pepper and plain flour,

then soy sauce

then they generally like to bathe again in the powder to keep dry....
