Dust bathing

I’ve got a question in regards to creating a dust bath area for my pullets. I’ve read multiple conflicting articles and forums on adding diatomaceous earth. Some use it and some don’t as it can irritate their sensitive respiratory systems. I’d just like to have a few opinions and get a general consensus. Thanks

The real consensus is that DE is completely useless as an insecticide.
