Dutch Bantams Breed Thread

yep , for most bantams, the general rule is around 6 months, some take a bit longer, a lot depends on when they hatched and what season it is, late hatches of course usually take the winter off and will just start their following spring

Okay, thanks!

My girls are about 2 1/2 months old now, so maybe I'll get some "easter" eggs from them:lol:

still searching. Like I said, these will mainly be for phoenix color projects, so as long as the color is good, They'll be fine to me for now til I get more serious with the breed.
Still would prefer to find a good breeder with them, but if that doesnt come around soon, Ideal has them.

I have a mile fleur and a buff hen, and a very spoiled and bossy LB roo. I'd like to get som LB and CLBs for DooRoo (mr. bossy) and maybe a mile fleur roo for the girls (I'm not sure what I'll get from mile fleur and buff ... anybody know?) I also have a couple that were supposed to be Dutch, but they're obviously OE. I didn't really want OE, but, oh well ... they're a black roo (actually, a pretty good OE black) and a black tailed buff hen. I don't know what I'm going to do with them yet.

Well I will be selling CLB and some LB eggs on Ebay in a little while. I am waiting for my old hens to kick back into production and I am also waiting for my pullets to get into production as well.

Do no get dutch from Ideal as they are Old English cross with dutch. Us nankin breeders have a problem with ideal as well because they have nankin- OEG mix birds and dont seem to care about the difference. they say they are true but are just not show quality....
