I had a little rooster that was the sole Dutch of one particular hatch, so I brooded/grew him out with a bunch of other breeds outside. He looked a mess when I finally separated him to get him in condition to show, but the look of his feathers was just cosmetic--a good bath fixed him right up. His tail looked much like that when I pulled him out of the pen, which is why I mention it.
