Dutch Bantams Breed Thread

No problem. The single comb is easy to get back without faults. Earlobe are intermediate, still acceptable for dutch.
The rosecomb may not be that easy to get back in original state.

Here is what I assume is my BB Red Dutch Roo. I was given some eggs to hatch and his was the tiniest! He does not have the white lobes that a good Dutch specimen should have but has the slate legs. He may be a OEG mix as I do not know if his lines originate from Hatchery stock but would like any opinions from those who know the breed. He is a real character at just six months old now and I love watching him around the yard with all of his ladies

Dutch Bantams are a new breed for me and I know nothing about them. These two hens are supposed to be out of very expensive show stock.

I could use some info please:
why does each hen have such different sized combs given they both are adults?

Do they indeed look like real good Dutch Bantams?

Is the little 'grey' one a young rooster?

I did not know what I was going to do with these until I recently thought of grandchildren gifts instead of a puppy! Looking through a few of these threads, it sounds like it could be a good idea.

I 'fell' upon them due to me commenting on how large their eggs were given the chickens are so very small. And I have no reason to think they are less than show quality stock given where I got them. He was downsizing and is into show and registered animals.

Any other information would be appreciated as well as the time it took.
Thank you.

Did he tell you what color they are supposed to be? The two light ones are splashes and the dark on looks like a light brown. How old are they? It looks like it could be 2 cockerels and a pullet

No, he did not say what color they were. The two big ones lay eggs and the little dark one is a kid of the one hen and I have another small one who is the kid of the other hen. The two little ones (one of which I did not post pic of simply due to not taking a pic of it) sleep under a wing of each 'momma'. I have no idea how old they are.
