Dutch Bantams

Has anyone had any Dutch bantams? I am interested in getting some in spring. They look so cute and tiny, and are apparently good layers considering their size. How much do yours lay, and are they good broody mamas? Also, how rare is the white variety?

I raise Light Brown Dutch Bantams. The females usually lay an egg every other day when they are laying well, but they go through phases of not laying at all. From my experiences, they are great broody mothers.

Are they expensiveness and how easy to find? Will they get bullied for being so small? I have a small flock of small bantams, and I only plan on bantams right now.

I’m not sure how easy it is to get Dutch Bantams in Australia. You should take a look at the Dutch Bantam club of Australia’s website and Facebook page.
They should get along fine with your bantam flock as long as you integrate them properly.

I don’t think they are hard to find, I’m sure my breeder will have some.
