My chicks are now 3 months old and one chick has not grown and she almost died about 3 weeks ago now she eats and functions like all the others but they are all like 3 x's her size. What is going on with her? will she ever grow? or do I officially have a dwarf chicken?

Sorry to hear that the little one almost did not make it, glad it is doing good now. but it sounds to cute. you should favor that one. hehe

I had a chick that was like that It bever grew, it did eat and drink. But it also had trouble walking after awhile. It lived for about 2 or 3 months then die.

I have a chick like that, a bantam dark brahma. He/she is skin and bones, and barely feathered out, and is about the same size that he was at 1 week, with the same amount of feathering. He eats/drinks/poops like normal too, so?? I dunno why he never grows and isn't feathering. They are 5-6 weeks old now, and his hatch mate is almost fully feathered and WAYY bigger.

How much are you actually seeing this chick eat? Alot of times the runts will get chased away from the food by stronger chicks and have a hard time of it.
Then too there are some chicks that were never strong from the start and waste away for no apparent reason.
I have a runt, now a year old. I had to offer her extra one on one feedings when she was young. Overall size-wise she has never caught up, but her weight is just fine and she's one of my best layers.

I had my little chick seperated for awhile because I was worried about him- he ate quite a bit, more than I expected of his size. His crop is always as full as everyone elses.

Just a thought...could this chick have worms? I would think that could keep the chick from getting full advantage of the nurishment needed? Good Luck.

I had one like that too, but at around 8 weeks old it was getting hard to tell her from the others. Although small she was always running under or over the bigger ones at treat time

Very good at getting her food. Good Luck.

I had two silkies, both from the same seller, hatched same day, but completely different in size
