I cleared the mucus. Got her to swallow some water.

That's great! Maybe, you could give her some colloidal silver, it's an all-natural antibiotic that might help her boost her immunity.

There is still mucus coming from her vent. What does this mean? Obvious answer to me would be some sort of infection. Is mucus commonly seen in an egg bound chicken?

I don’t feel an egg. I’m not sure how far I can go in. I went about an inch.

It's not always an egg that's stuck, so it's really a waste of time poking your finger into the vent, and there's a risk you'll hurt her.

Mucous dripping from the vent, especially if she squats when you lightly push against her vent, often means an obstruction in the oviduct. I suggested you give her a calcium tablet or Tums. This will stimulate contractions to help the obstruction to be expelled. Pop it directly into her beak. She will swallow it.

Fix her up in a crate with some thick towels to lie on. Make clear water available to her as this can dehydrate her, making her situation worse. You can add a little sugar to the water and it will make her want to drink it and also raise her glucose which will prevent her going into shock.

When you've done all those things, leave her alone for the night and check on her first thing in the morning.

I’ve tried giving some dissolved Tums as I believe this may be the only thing that’ll help. I can’t feel an egg. Maybe she is hypocalcemic and in shock? I’m here with her, praying for a miracle.

Jolene is still alive this am She had her head up and eyes open. Seems to be a little stronger. I was able to get some sugar water and tums into her this am. She’s still passing mucus from her vent. Mouth was clear and clean. Still labored breathing and only able to stand up for a few seconds. No interest in food, even a scrambled egg. I’ll try again later today. Thankful she survived the night.
