Dying chicken passing masses.

She was a new hampshire red and was 4 years old. That was a nice article that you linked. I wonder if the gleet may have led to this infection. I need to figure it out because it looks like another of my hens has gleet as well. I have never had this problem before and i am not sure of the best treatment for it.
 
I've lost several hens to salpingitis, none of them had vent gleet beforehand, so don't know if there would be any relation between the two. Vent gleet is often caused by yeast.
