What temperature do you have in the brooder? Pasty butt is often related to higher temperatures, while higher temperature also make the chicks dizzy and sleepy, so they will not drink enough.

100% agree with this. Check the temperature of the brooder and look for the signs of overheating. Breathing through the mouth, moving far away from the heat.

As others have said, they don't need their food ground up. Make sure they have grit, they need that for their gizzard to grind up the food. Based on how the chicken "threw up" I'm guessing they had food just sitting in the crop. Add some grit, ours was ground up granite when we got our chicks, but they use ground Oyster shells now. Go to the feed store and tell em you need grit for baby chicks and they'll get it for you or tell you where to get it.

When you said, "he threw up" what do you mean?
Also, you should only be feeding a chick grower/starter feed, not seeds.

I recently got 6 chickens and three of them seem sick with poop stuck to there but's so we've been washing them off but yesterday after we washed two of them off we put them under a heat lamp as usual then when i checked in on them twenty minutes later they were dying! I was able to revive one but the other died. now today we washed one of them and he started looking sick right away. What is the best way i can help them and how ca I stop this from happening again? Also if you know how they are sick please tell me.

60 and 70 years ago, people recommended adding a little vinegar to the drinking water a s cure for "pasty butt." I don't remember whether I ever had to try it, but I know my mother claimed she had used it with success.
