My chickens are just over a year old and have been doing really well laying just about everyday and well over the winter too ( we have very cold winters) didn't have any die but recently over the last month I have had 4 die And have no idea why, this is my first flock of chickens and thought maybe there was something I was doing wrong or is it common, any advice or thoughts would be great thanks

They are brown leghorn they had their mareks vaccine and are not free range but have a large inclosed coop 30x30 just thought it was weird as I have had none die before this last month and then 4 all within a few weeks

It is strange for so many to pass so close together. Was there any symptoms or signs as to what they may have died from?

Not any symptoms that I noticed they all looked fine everyday I went in to feed and collect eggs, But I also don't really know signs for unhealthy chickens either they all seemed to be eating and have energy

Just what I was going to ask (you don't have a location tag). I had a perfectly healthy pullet die 'for no reason' last summer when we had three months without a single day under 90F. Hottest day, the day she died, actually it was 109F (That's American Southeast degrees. Read: Humid). After that I made it a point to put large chunks of ice into their fount and gave them a little "bathing pool" to help keep them cool. No more deaths after that.

We live northern bc so it has its days but not crazy heat, but we did have a number of pretty warm days this last month (28-30 Celsius) so that's a possibility I will have to get them a pool or something for hot days thanks :)
