Well, you can put it on a block of wood or something to elevate it some.


Medicated chick starter can do that, but there are plenty of chicks that still have an overload of Coccidiosis while on medicated feed and need further treatment. Feeding medicated feed is not a guarantee that chicks will not become sick.

Exactly, it is a step closer to prevention. It is easier to prevent then it is to treat

Apparently it was cocci since the corid is bringing them back to me! They’re doing much better now!

YAY! Happy ending! Will keep fingers crossed that they grow big and strong and happy.

Update!!!! We’re all still alive and seem to have survived the cocci!!!!

Actually... the Cedar could have been poisoning them. The oil in cedar is toxic to chickens esp baby chicks! So glad they are doing better.

Yes! Pine is they way to go! Honestly I had no idea until I started seeing it all over Pinterest while trying to decide on bedding before getting chicks. Pretty wild!
