Dying Pigeons

Their poops look completely normal, which is throwing me off. Its fully formed, greenish-brown with white urates. I rarely see a watery poop at all from anyone in the flock. Not that I have the time to sit there and observe every bowel movement, but what I see on the floor and table suggest that by far most of them are normal appearing.

I'm headed to Rural King today so I'll see what they have, hopefully they have Sulmet. I've been meaning to pick it up in case of a cocci flare-up with my chickens, although thankfully I've not had a need for it. I'll also see if they have some of the medications prescribed for Canker as well.

My guess would be worms. Feeding pigeon crack corn is bad, only feed whole corn.
Birds can pick up worms, from eating earth worms, or other bugs. They will need wormed even if not free range.

I would use Safe guard, then ivomec.

Okay fellow birds peeps.
Heres the scoop on pigeons. Worm twice a year,I use wormout gel. Vaccinate for paratyphiod and salmonlella yearly.
Feed dry relatively clean seed. No cracked corn, dent or popcorn. Wild bird seed is acceptable if you add some higher protein seeds to it.
Keep them dry and well ventilated and they should be quite happy and healthy. If you dont fly then they need an aviary. Approximately 1 cubic foot per bird.
Nesting boxes need to be big enough the cockbird can tread the hen. Nesting materials can range from fine clean sand to tobacco stalks. I use long pine needles.
Pigeons lay about 7-10 days after copulation with the second egg coming 2 days after the first. About 8-9 days after they hatch they will start to grow feathers and it is usually band time. At 18-21 days they should be big enough to leave the nest and the pair should lay again. 3 weeks later they should be flying, requiring a perch and a place at the feeder.

Thats a quickie capsule on pigeons
