Eager Duck Mom

Deep breaths. Yes, the grow gel does come in a little cup. Extras are extras and should not be expected. If they don't have any they won't send any. Sorry for the little guy. They usually have very good customer service.

Yes.

You have to remember that hatch-lings don't eat too much their first day, and even after that you wouldn't want them too full of stuff. I agree that 55cents is a bit pricey, but given the ducks are typically healthy grow gel is understandably a supplement. I don't know about you but one of the ducks could of fit in the cup they sent me (I got 10) so that would mean they each could nom 1/10 of their body weight in growgel. Not really that bad if you ask me.

I got an extra, but I also had a loss within the first week.

A blind bird will still make good eggs and in general have a good life...that said Metzer is incredibly good to deal with and will likely remedy this in some way.

I did send Metzer an e-mail to give them the heads up. I was nice. 24 hours will tell a bit more.
I suppose your right about the gro-gel. they do have tiny tummies. I am just being sad, and its coming out differently, for the two that seem weak.
Little one eye will likely be just fine. It does give him a distinguished characteristic. And on the up-side, if they had noticed at the farm that he was a lil one eye, he likely wold have been culled I guess the oversight saved his little life.
Most of my duckies are buzzing around the brooder like they have firecrackers under their bums that go off every few minutes. It is hilarious. They all settle down to snooze a bit then bam! Off they go.

I'm glad they are doing well. My biggest fear is to open a box and having dead ducklings. There are so many emotion when getting ducklings. I find calling Metzer is very easy and they have always answered right away. T

Thanks, They are looking better this afternoon. Except that One Eye is now drooling periodically Its weird.

Emotional, yes.
I opted to send them an e-mail as we all ready had some dialogue going on (I was charged too much shipping blah blah blah) and I am known to get a bit, feisty, shall we say .
I did not want to either become a blathering babbling boob, nor a raging witch on the telephone. so e-mail is just safer for all parties concerned in my case. Its good to know yourself. Emotional? Oh Yes.
