earlobe injured badly

Hi, my rooster had his earlobe injured to the point it is hanging. It is actually separated from the head and hanging from about 1/4 of skin on the bottom side. Trying to decide if it should be removed or do we need to stitch it? Have cleaned and stopped all bleeding and used an antibiotic ointment. Please help!
