I noticed my 17 week old hen had an injured earlobe with a strand of skin hanging off. Immediately I separated her, cleaned it, and sprayed chicken antibiotics on it. So I have two questions:

How does my chicken hospital look?

Is there anything I should do in regards to the strand of skin?

Maybe use some triple antibiotic ointment (the kind without pain relief) to keep it moist and keep the bacteria away. If you can put the piece of skin back where it belongs and “glue” it in place with the ointment that would be good!

I would separate her until the blood is clotted and not so noticeable. I like your hospital coop, but they can easily turn over a quart waterer. I prefer the gallon size ones, kept mostly full or a large coffee can kept full. Those are heavier and not so easily spilled.

Welcome To BYC

The thin strand of skin will likely dry up in a few days and fall off on it's own.

I've had injuries similar to this. Once the bleeding has stopped, I clean up the bird, wipe their feathers clean and put them back with their flock.
Watch to make sure the injury is not getting picked at, but usually if not bleeding, mine didn't mess with it.

Look around your coop/run for any staple or nail that she may have caught that on.
