Early Christmas present

How in the world are they so mixed up? maybe I should start incubating to see what I can get

If you do, make sure you let them warm up when you bring them in the house. I put one in the incubator while it was still kinda cold, and the humidity sweated all over the cold egg

Good to know, if I get anymore I will try for a winter baby, but I may adopt him out, my niece really wants one. So.....merry late Christmas january

Get an egg tonight?

No egg last night, actually a relief! I'll check again this evening.... I don't think she's totally done yet. But if she goes to every other day, it will be easier on her body. Pumping out an egg a day is an awful lot for a young peahen.

I got 5 eggs two weeks ago, but didn't try to hatch them, i already have emu eggs in the bator so its different temp and humidity, if i cracked an egg would you be able to tell if it fertile?

Yes. If the egg is fertile, it should be a white dot with a white circle around it, sort of like a mini target/bullseye. If it is not fertile, the egg will just have a faint white dot.

This is a good example of a fertile egg from the previous page. If you google fertile eggs, this photo matches all of the fertile egg photos. I just learned this myself by googling it, because I thought if the egg had a white dot that meant it was fertile. I didn't realize even an infertile egg has a white dot!
