I forgot to put it on here, the egg thread ... she laid egg #5 this evening!

Can you tell us when you candle them, i have new 10 eggs, and my uncle said he saw 2 peacocks mating with their hens, so they could be fertile.

That's great, as much as i got tired in last summer as much i miss the little babies now! These are opal silver pied eggs, i think i'm going to incubate them tomorrow

Garden peas, how are the eggs coming along? And have you got any more? Sorry to see your under the weather.

Just picked up egg #9 about 10 minutes ago. I have to get them quickly before they freeze, as cold as it is this week.

So far, it looks like the hen is running pretty fast, or the males are just all talk and tail... Eggs #1 through #4 are clears. Eggs from #5 on haven't had enough time to tell yet.
I suppose I should have just celebrated Christmas with a pea-egg omelet

I'm not as smart as Zaz about these guys... But still wishing for a house pea or three

Anyone have any idea how long this poor hen is likely to keep laying? She had four, one right after the other (like all 4 within 4 or maybe 5 days), then there was an interval of maybe 5 days, then she started back in with one every other day like a normal hen's laying cycle. I kinda thought she'd have stopped by now...
