You'll be hatching all month long - lucky!
I think that is so cool - the kids will love it
That's great! I also added to my incubator today. They are shipped eggs and were supposed to have arrived Friday but the weather has caused the post office to not deliver since Thursday! I went to the post office and got the eggs myself today. Not holding out much hope for these ones but added them anyway. Oh, and normally I let them sit for longer before putting them in the incubator but since they've been sitting since Friday at the post office, thought I'd be okay. They are Salmon Faverolles.
She teaches 1st grade. Last year her class loved it. Especially when the chicks started peeping in the shells. They were so excited when they hatched but I had to make sure they didn't open it until the day after to give some more a chance to hatch. They all got to hold the chicks. One of the other teachers took them home. It wasn't a great hatch only 5 survived. I think the school had a couple power outages over a weekend.
You're hand turning all those?? Wow that's dedication
That is what I was thinking too! It would make it even harder to leave do things alone and I was having to turn them multiple times a day.
I'll join I have 30 eggs due to hatch Feb 1st.
When do you normally see embryos moving during candling? I read someone here saw some on day 10.
I candled at day 11 and saw a few with veins but not any movement from inside.
Welcome to the hatch-a-holics page for February!
